Dating apps are a staple for this generation. Navigating between the many options such as Tinder, Hinge, Coffee Meets Bagel, Grindr, Scruff, Bumble, and Okcupid can be difficult, especially for LGBTQ+ folk. So as an aspiring UI Designer, I decided to test my skills and ability by creating high fidelity mockups for a hypothetical dating app, thus Hooked was born. Hooked is different from the rest by providing individuals with the option to identify as non-conforming when selecting their gender. In addition, Hooked allows users to browse any profile regardless of gender, orientation, and identity.
I enjoyed this independent Project because it allowed me to deviate from other dating apps, by using high-quality UI design to serve an underrepresented community.
